NARA Rural Preservation Community Mission Statement

 

Mission Statement

As a designated “Rural Preservation Neighborhood”, the mission of the Northwest Area Residents Association, Inc. (NARA), is to preserve our quality rural community culture and lifestyle ; monitor the use and encourage the development of property within our designated boundaries to insure a profile consistent with neighborhood standards; work with our appointed and elected city, county, and other agency officials to accomplish these goals; and support the general safety, health and well being of our community.

 

RURAL PRESERVATION NEIGHBORHOOD DEFINED

"Rural Preservation Neighborhood" means a subdivided or developed area:

  1. Which consists of ten or more residential dwelling units;
  2. Where the outer boundary of each lot that is used for residential perposes is not more than three hundred thirty feet from the outer boundary of any other lot that is used for residential purposes;
  3. Which has no more than two residential units per acre: and;
  4. Which allows residents to raise or keep animals nncommerically.

 

The definition was adopted by the City Council on 10/05/05 by Ordinance #5791
